 In 2026, we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion.Next year, we also mark the 100th Aniversary of 35 Branches in BC/Yukon Command that received their charters in 1926. We encourage every Branch to begin thinking about hosting events in their local communities next year. These events could coincide with the Legion’s official start date of July 17th, or they could be held during Legion Week in September. |
| Celebratory events and projects are currently in the works, and more information on these projects will be announced as we approach the next year. In the meantime, here are some updates on the Legion’s current plans:The Royal Canadian Mint is planning to release several Legion Centenary coins in early 2026.The Poppy Store is currently working on a series of Legion 100 product ideas.A final design for the Centenary medal was approved.Legion history items, such as videos, online timelines, and a centenary book, are being planned.Membership-related incentives are being discussed.A Branch information package, with details on national projects, ideas, and tools for celebrating Legion 100, is currently in the works.Media-related materials may be available to help with upcoming media interest.Brand guidelines specific to Legion 100 are in development.Dominion Convention 2026 is in the planning stages, and Legion 100 elements may be included.A Gala Ball is being planned for Dominion Convention 2026 in Winnipeg – the birthplace of the Legion.A “soft launch” for Legion 100 is scheduled or later this year: November 17, 2025.Branches, please check our emails for regular updates on the Centenary over the coming months, which will be sent through the Legion’s Branch Dispatch emails. |
